Stiltwalker In The Wind - 110114

Sponsored by "Music (random)".

Edited the Ric 4003 bass parts in CE5. Almost there. Some little tweaks left to sort, but I might leave them closer to the final mix. I'm OK for the time being.

Had a bit of a problem with CE5 crashing while I was editing (but not saving). Pain in the bum. Eventually copped that Reaktor 5 Gischt part was eating up a load of processing power, so I recorded it as a stereo audio track using the Phonic Firefly and the Behringer Xenyx 1202 mixer. Problem solved.

Hope to have a go at editing the Squier Strat parts tomorrow. Who knows...?

Stiltwalker In The Wind - 040114

Sponsored by "X-Ray Spex".

Edited the MIDI drum parts in CE5. Because the parts are sourced from two different VST plugins (HALion One and Kore Player), I had to make sure that the preset reverb settings in both plugins were turned off so that the parts matched. I routed the various parts through a dedicated group channel and applied a reverb setting across all the parts.

I also had a look at the JP Analogue Stringpad parts and decided that the problem lay with the tone itself, so after much trial and error, I settled on HALion One StringsSt2 as an alternative. Works much better now.

I also added a wind tone (Reaktor 5 Gischt) which works very well, but required me to automate a fade in/out. Again much trial and error, but working fine now.

The track is ready for tracking bass and guitar parts next week. That's when the wheels fall off the wagon, I guess...;-).
